Catholic Parish Jubilee Histories

Catholic Parish Jubilee Histories

The Catholic Parish Jubilee Histories collection was previously available on twelve rolls of microfilm. We are now working on making them accessible here on the Digital Archives. The collection consists of mainly St. Louis area churches, with some in other parts of Missouri, and one in Illinois. Many of these books or booklets were created to celebrate milestones in the churches, such as a silver, golden, or diamond jubilee, or a centenary/centennial. They often contain information about the founding of the church or parish, with the names of religious leaders and prominent church members, and many include photographs or sketches, depending on the time period.

Many of these books are in German, thanks to Missouri's German heritage. Our Digital Collections Librarian has attempted to make these documents searchable with optical character recognition (OCR) but given the ornate style of German fraktur script, the result is not always accurate. If you are interested in volunteering to transcribe these items, please contact History & Genealogy at genealogy@slcl.org

Use this map to browse the locations of the digitized Catholic Parish Jubilee Histories.

Use the plus and minus buttons on the map to zoom in and out. You can use your mouse to click and drag the focal point of the map.

When you select a location, you will be able to see what items are available for that church or parish. If you click one of the titles, it will open in a new tab.

The "Reset" button will return the map to its original state.
